History

When you choose New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center you choose a group with deep roots in our community. Each member of our 21 physician team has a passion for medicine and orthopaedic care. Even though the name New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center has only been around since January 2010 the providers of the practice have decades of experience.

New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center

New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center (NHOC) was formed January 1, 2010 by the merger of two established orthopaedic groups in southern New Hampshire: The Orthopedic Center (TOC) and New Hampshire Orthopaedic Surgery (NHOS). NHOC is comprised of 21 physicians and a supporting staff of physician assistants. By merging the groups we are able to effectively provide expanded orthopaedic care throughout southern New Hampshire.

The Orthopedic Center

The Orthopedic Center formed from a merger of two smaller orthopaedic groups in April 1995: Nashua Orthopaedic Professional Association (NOPA) and Lynn, Marks, Marino & Macey. This critical merger generated the opportunity to treat patients in two different communities – NOPA being located in Nashua, NH and Lynn, Marks, Marino & Macey in Londonderry, NH and Nashua, NH. TOC continued to grow by gaining an office in Manchester, NH with the

addition of Dr. Vailas in 1998. From 1998 to 2010 The Orthopedic Center added two additional offices and continued to increase in physician and physician assistant staff.

New Hampshire Orthopaedic Surgery

New Hampshire Orthopaedic Surgery was founded in 1976 as two physicians joined the practice of Dr. Sherwin and moved to 700 Lake Avenue, Manchester, NH. NHOS grew to an 8 physician practice with two supporting physician assistants.

Today New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center averages over 80,000 patient visits a year. We are deeply involved in our communities serving as orthopaedic providers in our school districts, team physicians for college and semi-professional sports, supporting charity events and also performing as educators.
